Have you let your self-care slide a little? Don’t know where to start, or just need a bit of a boost or reset? This week, we’re inviting you to embark on a 7 day wellbeing challenge.
Here are 7 simple yet effective tasks to help you prioritise your self-care and enhance your wellbeing.
Let’s kick off this challenge by embracing the peace of a mindful morning.
Start your day with 5 minutes of meditation or deep breathing. It can help set a positive tone for the day ahead and help you to centre your thoughts.
Try gratitude journaling
Start to cultivate an attitude of gratitude and try jotting down 3 things that you’re grateful for today.
Gratitude is good for you: that’s a fact. It’s backed by science and advocated by Dalai Lama, Ophra and more. One of the ways to show thankfulness daily and making it a positive habit is by keeping a gratitude journal… it can help you to shift focus to the positive aspects of life.
Start small and write down 3 things you’re grateful for today. It could be anything, from the taste or scent of your morning coffee, to something you’re look forward to or even the weather… look for the happiness in the every day.
Make a healthy meal
Nourish your body with a homemade, nutritious meal that will make your body feel good… you deserve it. Find the joy in the process of creating something for yourself, the intention and time you’re giving yourself by creating this meal.
So today, we’d like you to prepare a healthy, home cooked delicious meal (and share a photo with us!).
Take a workout break
Take a 15 minute break, step away from the screens and take part in some physical activity. It could be stretching, yoga or a quick workout to get your body moving, something that you enjoy and feels good.
Physical activity can boost your energy and also help with a positive mindset.
Bonus points if you can go outside into nature too.
Take a Digital Detox
Take a screen break: spend an hour in nature, read a book or engage in a face-to-face conversation for 1 hour today.
Disconnecting from technology can provide a much-needed break for your eyes and mind, as well as encouraging you to engage in face-to-face conversations and form real life connections.
Prioritise a Self-Care ritual
Indulge in your favourite self-care ritual today: this could be a spa session, a bubble bath or even reading a good book. Take time for yourself and nurture your inner self, self-care is a reminder to yourself that you are worth it.
As our challenge concludes, we want you to take some quiet time today to reflect on the past weeks. What were your highlights… is there anything you’d like to take forward with you past this week? Think about setting yourself some new goals for your health and happiness.
