Ever wonder why some people just seem to glow? In this guest feature, Alice Geoffroy explains how Kundalini energy can unlock your body’s natural vitality, lift your mood, and help you radiate confidence and calm from the inside out.

You know that person who walks into a room and somehow… the air shifts?

No dramatic entrance. No glitter cannon. Yet everyone feels it. A certain vitality. A quiet magnetism. A kind of glow that seems to come from somewhere deeper than skincare or good lighting.

We often call it “presence.” Sometimes “charisma.” Occasionally we just say, “She’s radiant.”

But what if part of that radiance had something to do with energy?

Enter: Kundalini.

Before you imagine saffron robes and chanting in a Himalayan cave, let me reassure you. You don’t need to join an ashram or start speaking Sanskrit to understand this one.

Stick with me.

So… what exactly is Kundalini?

In simple terms, Kundalini refers to the body’s dormant life-force energy.Kundalini bodywork session

Many traditions describe it as energy coiled at the base of the spine, like a sleeping potential waiting to awaken. When it begins to move, people often report heightened vitality, emotional release, creativity, and a deeper connection to themselves.

Think of it less like mystical fireworks and more like your internal power grid switching back online.

When this energy flows freely, people tend to feel more alive. More expressive. More emotionally present. In other words: radiant.

In many traditions, this life-force is also connected to our creative and sexual energy. When it moves freely, people often feel more confident, expressive and alive.

But most of us are not exactly walking around with a fully open power grid.

Stress, emotional suppression, trauma, and the relentless pace of modern life tend to put a few… energetic roadblocks in the system.

There’s also something fascinating researchers and psychologists are starting to talk about more openly: energetic attractiveness.

Beyond physical features, humans are incredibly sensitive to subtle cues. Posture, breath rhythm, emotional openness, nervous system regulation… all of it communicates something before we even say a word.

When someone’s energy is flowing freely, their body language softens, their eyes brighten, their voice becomes warmer. We perceive them as more confident, more grounded, more alive.

In other words, magnetism isn’t just a personality trait.

Sometimes it’s an energetic state.

Which brings me to my own unexpected introduction to Kundalini.

The breakup, the pillows, and the first spark

In April 2024, I was going through a breakup that completely rocked my world.

And here’s the inconvenient truth: for someone who works with emotions, I was incredibly good at suppressing my own. A master of keeping it together. Of staying composed. Of pushing things down so my life could keep functioning.

Except eventually, the body calls your bluff.

A friend suggested I try something I had never explored before: Kundalini yoga. At that point, all my usual tools were failing, so I figured, why not?

One session in, I found myself doing something I had rarely allowed before.

Feeling anger.

Real rage.

The kind that makes you punch pillows, growl, sweat and release years of pent-up tension.

Let’s just say several innocent cushions did not survive that evening.

But something shifted.

For the first time in a long time, emotion moved instead of getting trapped.

Kundalini yoga quickly became an anchor in my self-care routine.

Kundalini bodywork

Then things got… interesting

A few months later, during an indigenous plant ceremony, I experienced something powerful.

Energy rising through my body. Waves of sensation. Intense clarity. A feeling that something inside me had suddenly awakened.

At the time, I didn’t have language for it.

Only later did I realize: I had likely experienced my first Kundalini rising.

Then in September, during a Kundalini yoga practice, it happened again.

Except this time it felt like a laser beam through my awareness. A flood of insight. Clear images. A strange, calm knowing about things in my future.

At one point I even heard the name of the man who is now my partner.

Yes. I know how that sounds.

But in that moment I burst into tears, overwhelmed with a sense of love and clarity I had never felt before.

And suddenly I recognized the pattern.

The same energetic current I had felt in ceremony was present here too.

So naturally, I started researching.

Which is how I stumbled into the rapidly growing world of Kundalini activations.

The internet version of KundaliniKundalini bodywork session

If you’ve ever searched Kundalini online, you’ve probably seen the videos.

People lying on yoga mats. Bodies shaking. Limbs moving in ways that look… unusual.

At first glance it can feel a bit theatrical.

But curiosity got the best of me, so I tried a session myself.

And what surprised me most was this: experiences that once took an hour-long yoga practice or an entire plant ceremony… started happening naturally.

The body simply responded.

Energy moved. Emotions surfaced. Insights appeared.

And the most mind-blowing realization was this:

Your body already has everything it needs.

No external substance required.

Masculine effort vs feminine surrender

Over time, I began noticing something interesting.

Kundalini yoga tends to approach awakening through structured practice. Breath techniques, specific postures, sequences called kriyas.

It’s powerful, but it requires effort and discipline.

Kundalini activations, on the other hand, rely more on surrender.

You lie down. You relax. And the body begins doing what it naturally knows how to do.

Both approaches have value.

But what fascinated me most was how quickly people could reconnect to their own energy through surrender alone.

This discovery changed my understanding of healing completely.

From curiosity to trainingKundalini energy

The impact on my own healing journey was so profound that I decided to go deeper.

And if you know me at all, you know I tend to go all-in when something matters.

So instead of just dabbling, I enrolled in a three-week immersive training in Kundalini Bodywork.

What is Kundalini Bodywork?

While activations can create powerful energetic experiences, Kundalini Bodywork takes things a step further.

It combines energy work with hands-on bodywork, emotional release techniques and elements of non-dual therapy, helping people reconnect with the deeper intelligence of their body and mind.

Because most of us don’t lack energy.

We lack flow.

Years of suppressed emotions, tension, and stress create what practitioners sometimes call “armouring” in the body. Tight muscles. Restricted breath. Emotional patterns that keep repeating.

Guided by clear intentions, Kundalini Bodywork gently works through those layers.

Through touch, breath, and awareness, the body begins releasing what it has been holding onto for years.

When those layers soften, something beautiful happens.

Energy starts circulating again.

People often report feeling lighter. Clearer. More connected to themselves.

And yes… sometimes noticeably more radiant.

Beauty from the inside out

We spend billions each year trying to improve how we look on the outside.

But when your life-force energy is flowing freely, something remarkable happens.

Your eyes brighten.

Your posture shifts.

Your presence changes.

People feel it before they even understand why.

That kind of beauty doesn’t come from a serum.

It comes from alignment between your body, emotions, and energy.

Curious?

Kundalini energy doesn’t belong to yogis, gurus, or spiritual influencers.

It belongs to you.

It’s simply the body remembering its natural vitality.

And when that vitality returns, so does your magnetism.

If you’re curious to experience this work for yourself, you can find me online or explore my sessions to discover what this energy feels like in your own body.

Because sometimes the most powerful glow-up isn’t cosmetic. It’s energetic…
