Beauties, it’s nearly the Easter Bank Holiday weekend! With longer, brighter days ahead and a few bank holidays at our fingertips, Easter is a wonderful opportunity to slow down, reflect and refresh your wellbeing.

Here are some practical ways to support your mind, body, and spirit over the holiday.

Mindful Enjoyment

It’s the season of chocolate and easter eggs and it’s certainly a real treat – but it’s also important to balance that out with nutrient-rich meals to make sure your body gets what it needs. Look for colourful vegetables, protein and whole grains to go alongside your festive favourites.

Easter offers a valuable opportunity to reset your wellbeing in a way that feels realistic and sustainable. Not through extremes, but by returning to the simple habits that genuinely support it. Focusing on nourishing whole foods, staying well hydrated, prioritising quality sleep and building regular movement into your week can have a powerful impact on your energy, mood and even your skin.

Even small changes can make a meaningful difference. Adding an extra portion of vegetables each day, keeping a water bottle nearby, or taking five minutes to breathe deeply and reset your nervous system can all support better energy, mood and mental clarity. These simple habits also play a key role in skin health, as true radiance begins at a cellular level.” – Dr Libby Artingstall, co-founder of health optimisation hub Projuvenate.

Refresh your Habits

Easter is a great time to do a little spring cleaning for your wellbeing – refreshing those habits and creating space to support calm and clarity. Start small, be consistent and find things that support you.

Instead of changing everything, it often starts with one small shift.

The biggest shift for me was telling myself, I am a morning person. As a busy mum of 3, clinic owner, juggling many hats, being able to start my day before the rest of the house has been a game changer. As we enter the season of lighter mornings, I love those quiet moments, to enjoy a hot cup of tea, listen to music, journal or just sit and be still. By the time the boys wake, I am regulated and ready for the day. In turn, they are calmer and we all have a positive start to our day. This for me, had to start with my night time and sleep hygiene. Phone is now charged away from the bed, doom scrolling has been replaced by a book, whether that’s self development or a soppy chick lit and if I wake, I can slowly drift back again without reaching for the screen to check the time. I’m a big believer in small changes lead to long lasting effects. Start with changing one small habit at a time.” — Dr Amrita Bhogal, healthcare professional and The Light Sanctum owner.

As one expert explains, these small shifts are exactly what seasonal transitions call for:

Seasonal transitions are a powerful opportunity to gently reset, rather than overhaul, your habits. Over a long weekend like Easter, focus on simple anchors such as getting outside in natural light, eating balanced meals with many colourful fruits and vegetables, and allowing proper rest which help regulate your nervous system and energy. Wellbeing isn’t about restriction; it’s about creating enough structure to feel good, while still leaving space for enjoyment and flexibility.”  — Jessica O’Dwyer, a Functional Medicine Practitioner and Registered Nutritionist who holds a Master’s in Personalised Nutrition and founder of Tailor Well.

Show Gratitudegratitude journal

Take some time out this Easter break to reflect on the things you’re grateful for. Gratitude supports mental wellbeing and can also help you to feel more present in your day-to-day life.

You could start a gratitude journal or simply start by spending a few minutes at the start or end of the day to write down some things you are grateful for. The sun coming through an open window? The smile from a loved one? It all counts.

This kind of reflection can also help us tune into what we’re holding onto beneath the surface.

“The body often holds onto emotional experiences long after the moment has passed, especially during times of transition. Gently checking in with yourself each day, physically and emotionally, can help release stored tension and bring a sense of balance back to the system. A simple way to begin is to pause, notice how you feel, write down three words, and stay curious for a few minutes about what comes up and why. Repeating this daily or again in the evening can deepen that awareness, support your realignment and overall wellbeing.”

Connect with Others

It’s the bank holiday – are you taking some time this break to connect with others? Social connection is a key part of wellbeing and helps you feel supported, understood, and less stressed.

So, make some memories and spend some time with loved ones – particularly now it is getting lighter and brighter out. Maybe go out for a walk in nature with your loved one and look at the lovely spring flowers in bloom.

Give yourself permission to rest

Spending time with loved ones, getting out in nature… these are all great things, but spending some time doing nothing and allowing yourself to recharge is also important. It’s also essential this Bank Holiday weekend that you don’t overschedule yourself – make sure to also leave some time for yourself too!

From a clinical perspective, this need for rest is even more relevant during seasonal transitions.

As we transition into a new season and adjust to losing an hour of sleep, the body can experience increased fatigue, fluid retention, and mild disruption to its natural rhythm. From a clinical perspective, supporting the lymphatic system is key.  Treatments like manual lymphatic drainage can help stimulate lymph flow, reduce swelling, and encourage the removal of metabolic waste. Hydration also plays a vital role in maintaining circulation and cellular function, whether through consistent water intake or IV therapy where appropriate. Over long weekends like Easter, I always advise patients to focus on gentle movement, adequate hydration, and rest, allowing the body to rebalance without restriction,” — Felicia Alaia, Registered Nurse & Founder, Alaia Aesthetics.

Alongside rest, gentle movement can also support the body’s natural reset.

Easter is the perfect moment to slow down and reconnect with your body. My suggestion: dedicate 15 minutes each morning to a simple routine of stretching, mindful breathing and gentle Pilates movements that activate your lymphatic system. No intensity, no pressure—just consistent, small movements that help your body reset naturally. Even three days in a row over the long weekend can make a real difference in how you feel,” — Carlotta Gagna, Founder of lifestyle app Traininpink.

But beyond physical support, this seasonal pause also offers a chance to slow the mind and reset expectations.

“Easter is a natural pause point. You don’t need a full reset—just a small shift in awareness. Notice what’s been feeling heavy or rushed, and gently choose something lighter. Even one change, like slowing your mornings or spending more time outside, can help reset your energy. Over a long weekend, keep things simple—get fresh air, eat proper meals, and allow space to switch off without guilt. A bit of boredom and quiet is often where people start to feel like themselves again. Rest and enjoyment can sit alongside each other; when we step away from all-or-nothing thinking, we tend to feel more balanced, grounded, and in control,” — Shelly Dar, Wellness Specialist.
