We first discovered Trepadora as they were one of the wonderful sponsors for our Hair and Makeup team at Mini Mode, London’s Premier Kids Fashion Week. What really appealed to us about this brand was that Trepadora’s founder Keisha Jo wanted to ensure that her products would also be safe for use on little ones. Trepadora’s complete range has been EU cosmetic safety assessed and passed suitable for all ages from 3 years+ and as Mini Mode was a children’s fashion show and their products were used on children, we wanted to make sure the products used were gentle enough for them. These were a great addition to the show!
We knew we wanted to review their fabulous products and as they designed specifically for curly hair (which is what I have) I knew I had to try them for myself!
The Products
Goji berry Mint – Reviving Hair Rinse
This hair rinse features Avena Strigosa Seed Extract which contains water-retaining elements like amino acids that help hair and skin hold onto their natural moisture, Goji Berry Extract which supports hairs roots and makes hair thicker and fuller and Peppermint Oil which has astringent properties, so helps to normalise sebum secretion and cools the scalp, along with hydrating a dry scalp and promoting hair growth. I usually need something more moisturising than this, I found it more like a clarifying shampoo. I love that it contains lots of natural ingredients. I love the idea of the 100% airless packaging, but as I have a lot of hair I found it a little laboursome to get enough product out.
Babassu Quench – Leave in Curl Primer
This primer contains Babassu Seed Oil to restore and replenish the hair’s elasticity and helps to prevent dryness, Organic Coconut Oil to encourage shine and seal in moisture and Cranberry Seed Oil to promote hair growth by repairing damage to hair follicles whilst also softening your strands. Doesn’t feel like it weighs the hair down at all, but disappears into the hair without pulling it down or feeling sticky and I really like the smell.
Papaya Slip – Taming Potion
This cream contains Papaya Extract which helps boost your curls and AQUARICH® Black Oat Extract will help to infuse moisture. Rich in omegas 3,6 & 9, it’ll help to repair and protect dry frizz-prone hair. This potion has a nice slip to it and does help to tame the hair without making it crunchy or hard. Like the primer, this doesn’t feel like it weighs the hair down at all.
All of these products also contain their ‘hero’ ingredient Organic Peruvian Inca Inchi Oil, which repairs and protects for smoother, more defined curls. More about this next…
Their ‘hero’ ingredient – Inca Inchi Oil
Their products are infused with Organic Peruvian Inca Inchi Oil, which is the ingredient that is the inspiration behind the brand. It has amazing scalp soothing and hair rejuvenating properties and is the world’s richest known plant source of Omega 3!
About the Brand
Their products are also in 100% airless containers, keeping the ingredients inside from breaking down prematurely and they are the first brand to do so. The products are at least 96% naturally derived, sulfate, silicone, paraben free and registered with the Vegan Society.
What’s also incredible is that a portion of all profits goes to support the Peruvian Children’s Trust a remarkable UK registered charity that works directly with the poorest children in Peru. We love a brand that’s doing something to ‘give back’ and Trepadora delivers!
