A good foam (or mousse) paired with a gel is a must-have in my haircare routine. This combination gives my curls structure, definition and longevity, which I love. I’ve been a mousse girl since my teens, but over the years I’ve come to appreciate a nice foam too, they tend to feel lighter and more hydrating on the hair.

Recently, this duo from tgin has been in my haircare rotation and have been giving my consistently juicy, defined curls. Let’s talk about it:

Miracle Styling Multi-Use Setting Foam

Miracle Styling Multi-Use Setting Foam

What I’m really enjoying about this foam is that, unlike some that I’ve tried, it doesn’t leave my hair feeling fluffy or too soft. It gives definition while still keeping the curls hydrated and bouncy.

The Miracle Styling Multi-Use Setting Foam is lightweight enough that it doesn’t weigh my hair down, but still adds enough hold to keep my curls in shape. Each time I use it, my hair feels noticeably more moisturised, shinier and healthy.

A little goes a long way with this – I learned the hard way its very easy to get overexcited with the pump!

Key ingredients

  • Aloe: Nourishes hair follicles for healthy growth
  • Provitamin B5: Improves flexibility and resilience
  • Free From: Harsh Sulfates, Parabens, Lanolin, Artificial Colors, Petrolatum

Miracle Styling Water Activated Curl Elongating Gel

A hair gel is a must have in any curly hair routine if you want defined curls that last beyond wash day, and this one pairs beautifully with the foam.

It’s a medium-hold gel that gives enough structure without making the hair stiff or crunchy. It forms a light cast that’s easy to scrunch out, leaving curls soft and defined without being weighed down. It’s quite a thick, sturdy gel, but it smooths through the hair easily and actually works really well with the packaging — if it had a thinner consistency, the squeeze bottle could have become a little messy.

I also love that the gel is focused on moisture as much as styling, which makes such a difference for curls that are prone to dryness.

Key ingredients

  • Aloe Vera: Hydrates and seals the hair cuticle
  • Apricot Oil: Smooths strands and keeps them frizz-free all day long
  • Vitamin B5: Nourishes curls & retains length

Free From: Harsh Sulfates, Parabens, Lanolin, Artificial Colors, Petrolatum

The foam and gel do give more of a soft, flexible hold rather than an ultra-strong one and I personally do enjoy that. The definition is there, but the hair is still soft and I love the shine. I would say you’ll likely need to refresh after a day or two, especially if you prefer longer-lasting definition.
