Loving this cleansing trio from Shea Moisture!

I love trying new hair products and recently I have been trying out some of the products from the Shea Moisture’s deliciously scented Manuka Honey and Yoghurt range including a pre-shampoo mask and the matching shampoo and conditioner… let’s talk about them!

Key Ingredients:

As this is a range, they all have the same key ingredients in it which are:

  • Organic Shea Butter: Rich in fatty acids which help increase shine and reduce the frizz of your hair. It may also help protect hair from heat damage.
  • Manuka Honey: a natural humectant, drawing moisture into the hair and sealing the cuticle.
  • Yogurt: full of protein to condition your hair.

The Shampoo and Conditioner

I was pleasantly surprised by this shampoo and conditioner duo from Shea Moisture. I’ve found that quite a few shampoos specifically for curly hair do not lather – and I personally cannot get on with a shampoo that doesn’t lather. I use quite a few products on my hair every day and I don’t feel like I get a proper clean unless it lathers up… it just doesn’t spread through the hair well without the bubbles.

The products were creamy and the shampoo lathered well – and they have a nice ingredients list. The conditioner was also a nice thick texture and felt nice on the hair.

They feel creamy, yet lightweight and cleanses the hair nicely!

Hydrate and Repair Protein Power Treatment

Loving this product.  I LOVE that it’s a pre-shampoo treatment – I like to throw something on my hair before washing it, usually some kind of mask, so this is a perfect addition to my regular routine.

When I know I’ve got a busy day, but I still want to give my hair a deep treatment, this is one I will reach for as I can throw this on about 15 minutes before I’m planning on washing my hair and I know I’m giving it that extra boost of protein that my hair needs. If you’re interested in finding out more about why protein treatments are so important for your hair and whether you need one, check out our post here.

How to use:

Use before washing your hair – leave it on for 10-15 minutes before washing it out.

One thing to note is: all of these products contain protein – and sometimes, that can be a little too much protein for one person. So I would recommend that if you’re a little protein sensitive, try just using the mask one day and your regular shampoo and conditioners, then alternating. Don’t know if you’re protein sensitive? Check out our post all about it here.
