We think that everyone should have a good multi-purpose balm in their skin toolkit for when you really need something to soothe your skin. These are some balms that we’ve been loving recently.

ByByi Babe Balm

babe balm

This natural balm from the eco-conscious brand BYBI is great to throw in the handbag and apply when needed. This balms hero ingredient is Coenzyme Q10, which is intensely moisturising. It’s a beautiful balm, more on the oily side than some of the others in this selection, but it works really well to moisturse the skin. It smells lovely too!

It’s made from fruit wax, so vegan-friendly too.

The Kind Planet Company – Power Balm

power balm

It has a beautiful, rich orange-yellow colour and it feels very lush. Even though it’s a balm, it’s not greasy or sticky – it’s lovely and smooth and sinks into the skin well. It’s a multi-purpose product – it can be used as, well… so many things! I’ve been using it as a lip balm, but also as a deeply hydrating hand balm, it can also be used as a cleanser… it can be used in many ways. Most recently, I’ve been using it to heal my hands after using harsh kitchen products.

Ecooking Multi Balm

This works well and feels good pretty much everywhere: personally, I love it on my lips, cuticles and elbows. This is a fairly thick ointment style balm, that is unscented and non-sticky, it just feels quite pure and quite nourishing. I love using it on my lips as it doesn’t leave them feeling sticky or heavy, just soft hydrated and very nourished…plus I don’t need to keep reapplying it.
It works equally well everywhere else too, leaving your skin feeling super silky, moisturised and nourished. Love the fact that this is fragrance-free and jam-packed with some of my fave skincare ingredients like Shea butter and vitamin E. This is a keeper!

This balm has been a regular member of my skincare family since I first discovered the brand about 3 years ago. I love the unique fragrance of Kahina products …earthy and sensual.
This is skin loving balm is a blend of not just Argan oil which is at the core of this brand but also carrot seed oil, shea butter, coconut oil, olive oil and mango nut butter! It also contains calendula, known for its anti-inflammatory and powerful healing properties.
This ultra-nourishing balm is great for the hands, feet, elbows and any other areas in need of softening and deep hydration. It has a lovely golden colour and is easily absorbed.

Casa Mencarelli Bellissima Balm

casa
This organic skincare brand is a recent discovery for me and I’ve yet to explore the full range but if this glorious Sea Buckthorn balm is anything to go by, then I can’t wait. This balm is designed to be used on the face and neck, but I have to be honest and say that I’ve used it universally.
It has an uplifting orange colour and the overriding fragrance is that of Sea Buckthorn fruit oil. The texture is soft and easy to spread and this initially seemingly oily balm is very easily absorbed, leaving the skin with a satin finish.
The core ingredients are of course sea buckthorn oil which is known as a powerful antioxidant thanks to the power of omega 3,6,9 …..it also contains Rose hip oil which is another powerful antioxidant both of these ingredients are good at helping to regenerate the skin. Shea butter, vitamin E and sweet almond oil round off the ingredients list.
