Decadence in a pot: that’s how I like to describe this the Elemis Cleansing Balm.

I love a good balm cleanser. It’s something about the texture of a balm cleanser… I really feel like it works well with my skin and I get a good clean without stripping it.

This cleanser from Elemis has that perfect balmy texture that I absolutely love… it’s lush and feels luxurious on the skin and it’s certainly worked its way up into becoming one of my favourite cleansers at the moment.

The Elemis Cleansing Balm

The balm has a beautifully smooth, gel-like texture, which emulsifies into a milk when it makes contact with water. It has an absolutely gorgeous scent and reminds me of a spa in a jar.

It also feels very nourishing on the skin. I never feel like my skin feels dry after using it… in fact I sometimes leave it on and use it as a moisture mask.

How to use

Sadly, as this can’t be used on the eyes, I don’t tend to use this to remove my makeup but use it as a second cleanse, applying it to my face and working it in, then adding a little water so it turns milky and washing it off with a cloth.

I also love leaving this on for a while as a mask for more intense hydration.

 Key Ingredients

  • Sweet Almond Oil: comes exclusively from edible almonds and is rich in Vitamin E, monounsaturated fatty acids, proteins, potassium and zinc, alongside a number of other minerals and vitamins.
  • Mimosa and Rose waxes: these help shape the texture and the scent.
  • UK Starflower Oil: Also known as Borage oil, a rich source of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), an omega 6 fatty acid.
  • UK Elderberry Seed Oil: The structure of the elderberry sterols is similar to the skin’s own cholesterols which means they support the healthy function of the lipid layer
  • UK Optimega™ Oil: shown to help protect against transepidermal water loss and aids skin barrier function.
  • Coconut Oil: medium-chain fatty acids found in coconut oil also possess antimicrobial properties that can help treat acne and protect the skin from harmful bacteria
  • Shea Oil: High concentrations of fatty acids and vitamins make shea butter an ideal cosmetic ingredient for softening skin
  • Padina Pavonica: Contains the humectant polysaccharides and fatty acids to moisturise and plump-up the skin
  • Vitamin E: may help nourish and protect your skin from damage caused by free radicals

It’ll leave your skin glowing and smells gorgeous!

It really feels like a treat on the face, and although it is on the pricier side, you do get a lot of product for the money… a real winner!

They also now have two more in this range…one with a rose scent (GORGEOUS) as well as a Neroli one (HEAVENLY).
