We love shining a light on indie skincare brands where you can feel the heart of it. One where a brand is born out of a personal need, where you can feel the emotional connection to it. Ametrine skin is one of those brands.

Ametrine is built on mood-led aromatherapy-based formulations, turning your everyday routine into a mindful moment.

Here’s a closer look at a few products from the range we’ve been spending time with lately.

About the Brand

Ametrine was founded in 2020 by Rianna Gayle, born from a personal journey with sensitive skin and burnout, evolving into an aromatherapy led skincare brand. She lived a life in overdrive and created her brand to help others and herself reconnect with her skin, her breath, and restore moments of calm.

Their products are positioned around four core intentions: calming, uplifting, balancing and grounding, each designed to support your mood as much as your skin. Each blend is curated to support your mood, infused with 100% pure essential oils for emotional wellbeing.

Grounding Foaming Bath Salts

Bath salts are a powerful tool to help relax the mind and body, drawing on the soothing benefits of warm water and mineral rich bathing. Ametrine’s bath salts elevate that further with a foaming element to them, creating a soft, creamy bath experience that feels more luxurious than traditional salts.

The scent is gentle and soothing rather than overpowering, a lovely grounding mix of frankincense, cedarwood, sweet orange, and lavender. They’re not the most potent in fragrance strength, so if you prefer a stronger aromatic experience, you might want to layer them with a bath oil or soak to enhance the ritual.

Restore Cleansing Melt

A good cleansing balm melts away makeup and impurities while leaving the skin feeling calm and replenished, and this cleansing melt is very much rooted in the comfort first approach.

Love the use of blue tansy and arnica, which are known for their soothing benefits. The blue tansy also gives it its beautiful colour.

This cleansing balm is a thick, rich balm that melts down on contact with the skin. The richness comes from the shea butter base. It has a gentle, soothing scent – Grapefruit, Ylang Ylang, and Bergamot. Very nourishing and the skin is left feeling cleansed and comforted.

Calming Face & Body Oil

Spring has sprung and with all of the lovely flowers I’m inspired by the power of aromatherapy! This gorgeous oil is a beautiful blend of lavender, clary sage, ylang ylang and sandalwood that calms and relaxes. These are in a blend of skin nourishing oils like rosehip, jojoba, avocado and hemp delivering nourishment and deep hydration. Check it out.
A spring love!
ametrine Qasil & Matcha Mask

Qasil & Matcha Mask

This mask turns into such a lovely ritual. You mix the powder with water or an essence to create a smooth, easy-to-apply paste, and it leaves your skin feeling deeply cleansed, refined and visibly more radiant. I love using it first as a gentle exfoliating paste before letting it sit as a mask… it really elevates the results.

Because it’s a powder, the vitamin C stays stable and potent, which is a big plus.

It’s also packed with thoughtful ingredients: qasil leaf from Somalia to help boost glow, antioxidant-rich matcha to soothe, plus vitamin C, niacinamide and aloe to support and calm the skin.

ametrine calming whipped body butter

Calming Body Butter

A beautiful, calming scent of lavender and clary sage makes this feel like a real moment of pause. The formula blends nourishing mango butter with soothing oils like calendula, camellia and oat extract, making it especially lovely for sensitive skin.

The texture is spot on: rich enough to deeply moisturise, but it absorbs well without feeling heavy or greasy. Skin is left soft, comforted and hydrated long after applying.

It’s also vegan, cruelty-free and comes in reusable packaging, which makes it feel like a really thoughtful choice all round… and great value for how it performs.

Ethics Check

  • Handmade in the UK in small batches for better quality control, less waste, and fresh products made with love.
  • Products are designed to be multi use, to cut down on product waste.
  • The brand states it uses vegan and cruelty-free formulations, but these claims are self-certified and not currently backed by widely recognised third-party certifications (such as Leaping Bunny or The Vegan Society), which would provide stronger verification.
  • Made with sustainability in mind across the supply chain, including consideration of ingredient sourcing, packaging choices, and shipping impact.
  • Packaging is positioned as recyclable and eco-conscious, but there is limited clarity on the full lifecycle impact (e.g. percentage of recycled content, refill systems, or end-of-life recovery beyond recyclability claims).
  • With every order, a tree is funded through Ecologi contributing to reforestation projects that support biodiversity, restore damaged ecosystems, and help offset carbon emissions.

Ametrine skincare is a brand that blends selfcare skincare – helping you to come back to yourself through using them.
