I was intrigued when I heard about these two products from Alpha-H, and as a fan of the brand I decided to step out of my comfort zone (meaning using balms, not creams, and, well, skipping on the eye cream entirely…) and tried these – and they didn’t disappoint!

Here are my thoughts on two of Alpha H’s recent launches.

Alpha-H Liquid Gold Resurfacing Cleansing Cream with Glycolic and Lactic Acids

This cleansing cream has a really nice texture to it. It’s thick and rich – it has good grip when applied to the skin. I find that many cleansing creams just seems to slip off the face rather than working with the skin. I think this comes from the shea butter content in it and I really appreciate that.

The mix of coconut and shea butter, which nourishes and nurturing the skin, along with the lactic and glycolic acid, which gently exfoliates the skin, is a wonderful combination to leave the skin brightened, softened and nourished. AHA’s, the lactic and glycolic acid, are chemical exfoliants – we’ve written all about Lactic Acid here and these really work to exfoliate the skin as well as cleansing it, gently sloughing away at the dead cells on the surface of the skin.

How to use

Apply to dry skin and gently massage it in, avoiding the lip and eye area. Add water, where it will emulsify and then remove with warm water or a warm damp face cloth (the latter is my preferred method to really remove all the residue and leave the skin feeling lovely).

This is an alpha-hydroxy acid product so you may notice a slight tingling with use. It also makes you more sensitive to the sunlight, so please make sure to up your SPF when using this product, Alpha H recommend you do this for at least a week after use. Now that it has cooled down, I’m finding myself reaching for this more as I’m not having to worry about exposing my skin to any sun damage.

Liquid Gold Firming Eye Cream

Yes, I admit it – eye cream is STILL something I forget to use regularly (I know, terrible of me!) but I am making it a vow with what’s left of this year to change this.

This eye cream makes the process nice and easy as it feels very light, not sticky at all and sinks in very quickly. I love the roller ball on this as it’s nice and cooling on the eye. Keeping this in the fridge also adds to its depuffing ability – which is great when you want instant results!  It has an instant lightening effect on the eye due to the diamond powder which reflects light and works to illuminate the under-eye area.

Some of the key ingredients of this are are the: Quadruple Peptide Technology, a treatment which works to increase elasticity and moisture levels, along with the diamond powder to illuminate and create a ‘soft focus’ appearance under the eyes.

How to use

Squeeze the tube gently while gliding the applicator over the orbital bone, then use your fingertips to gently pat in.
