Comforting Cleansing Balms

Comforting Cleansing Balms

Okay, I admit it: I’m obsessed. Who doesn’t love a good cleansing balm, particularly as the wind gets a bit chilly and the skin needs a bit of extra comfort.

I love the rich texture of cleansing balms, how they melt into the skin and seem to moisturise as well as cleanse… you’re never left with dry, tight skin after using a good cleansing balm! They’re particularly great as a first cleanse too when double cleansing due to their oil base to lift those impurities.

Here are some of my recent loves, these cleansing balms are wonderful winter-must haves! Although who am I kidding? I use cleansing balms year round… All of these have slightly different textures, but they are all gorgeously moisturising and cleanse the skin without stripping.

Glow Recipe Papaya Sorbet Enzyme Cleansing Balm

This cleansing balm from Glow Recipe is beautiful, rich and buttery! It melts to cleanse the skin and remove all traces of make-up. It utilises a mix of exfoliating and calming papaya seed oil, papaya enzymes, papaya extract, and antioxidant-packed blueberry, leaves skin clean and bouncy. I love the addition of chemical exfoliants to give this cleanser that extra boost! It melts like butter in the skin.

Great for: sensitive skin

Texture: a buttery, smooth texture that doesn’t feel greasy. Smells very sweet.

Bedew Almond Oil Cleanser

This cleanser feels lovely on the skin – soft and buttery that melts down into an oil. It’s got a slightly grainy consistency which comes from the Collodial oatmeal, so it has a physical exfoliant element to it, along with a chemical exfoliation from the Lactic Acid. This removes makeup well and it has a lovely, oily consistency that really helps break down make-up and grime.

Great for: acne prone skin in particular

Texture: thick, slightly gritty and it melts down into an oil on the skin. It has an almond oil scent.

Alpha H has done it again with another fabulous product!

It has the perfect cleansing balm texture for me – not too thick, not at all waxy and also gentle enough to be used around the eye area… whilst also being highly effective at cleansing the skin. This is perfect to remove makeup and grime from the skin… everything just melts off.

Great for: all skin types

Texture: oily balm texture that turns milky in water. Orange blossom scent.
