I have to tell you that I absolutely love it when get to attend a product launch where I get a chance to get up close and personal with the founders! That’s exactly what happened on Monday when I was invited along to John Bell and Croydon for the launch of the latest offering from gorgeous brand ‘Daughter Of The Soil’. The launch was for their new Marula Oil ..which is fab I must tell you..but there’ll be a full review of the oil later this month.

This brand is new to me but I’m already loving it, thanks to the purity of their formulations and the gorgeous lush feel of everything that was available for trial. The brand is the love child of Maria Magembe, who was joined on her journey by her long time friend Hellen Lawuo-Meena who joined forces and launched the brand in 2015. The brand is a pioneering British-Blended, African-Heritage beauty brand driven by the benefits of nature and harnesses the power of time-tested African botanical oils that target deeper layers of the dermis for radiant, youthful skin. Most of the range is built around the core ingredients of Baobab oil, Marula oil, Shea butter, Moringa seed oil, Myhhr, Frankincense and Rooibos all of which are highly regarded in the skin care world for their skin moisturising and nourishing ability.

The other thing that this dynamic duo are doing is working to pay it forward through their ‘Connect the Dots’ scheme which supports African femtrepreneur who are ‘daughters of the soil’ – women who work in agridculture, supporting them to get better equipment like seeds and equipment to create better produce such as their shea butter. We love this wholistic feel behind the brand… working with those who are nurturing the ingredients, helping to give back and strengthen the community… the daughters of the soil.
