Get silky-smooth skin with Ameliorate!

Summer is really over! One thing that I find when all the summer holidays are over and the weather turns cool is that my skin can start to get very dry. The best way I find to combat this is finding a good exfoliator. I have been loving this duo from Ameliorate to not only exfoliate my skin but to top up the hydration levels as well.

One of the key ingredients which makes these products stand out and gives them a ‘treatment’ label is that they have the AHA Lactic Acid.

Lactic Acid

Lactic Acis is a natural acid which is derived from milk, fruit, vegetables and other plants. It is part of the Alpha Hydroxy group, along with Glycolic Acid and citric acid. You should look for the ‘L-lactic acid’ as this is the purer form, making it safer for your skin. In lower amounts lactic acid acts as a moisturiser in higher amounts it can break down the glue between the cells creating an exfoliating effect.

Smoothing Body Exfoliant

This product both combines the physical ‘scrubby’ part of a scrub with a chemical exfoliation through Lactic Acid – making this a great treatment product.

This is something that we’d recommend you use only a couple of times a week. It would be abrasive on the skin for everyday use, we’d say.

Transforming Body Lotion

This body lotion is particularly good for those of you who have dry /sensitive skin. Sometimes those skin types find actual scrubs a little too harsh – or for those with ingrown hairs or Keratosis Pilaris.

It’ll gently exfoliate the skin whilst hydrating it at the same time. This lotion is clinically proven to significantly increase moisture levels in the skin for up to 12 hours. It’s certainly a winner in our book. Skin is left feeling soft and smoother after a few uses.
