As anyone with a passion for beauty and skincare knows, there are always those brands that you know of and have probably used from time to time, but have not had the opportunity to really engage with, not because you wouldn’t like to, but more likely because with soooo many other great brands out there it’s easy to for you to forget how much you like certain brands. So, it was a real pleasure to have an opportunity to re connect with Alpha H at their 21st Birthday party in early June! This glamourous affair was held on the roof terrace at the gorgeous Ham Yard Hotel and as you’d expect from a brand like Alpha H the space was beautifully decorated, with fresh flowers everywhere and reflected the monochrome theme of the evening.

As many of you know, I believe in the power of ‘The story’ to motivate and inspire, and the story of Alpha H was beautifully communicated via a film where family, friends and supporters of the brand shared their love and respect for this 21 year old family business.

I guess that the star product of the Alpha H brand has got to be the ‘Liquid Gold’ treatment serum which has won numerous awards, but this brand has won many awards for its other products too.  Liquid Gold is a kind of everything product …a combination of a toner, exfoliator, serum, and moisturiser! According to the website it’s a “treatment that uses a state of the art, low pH delivery system to effectively diminish wrinkles, pigmentation and sun damage….works like an ‘overnight facial’ to brighten and revitalise tired, ageing skin, and radically improve the appearance of the complexion. Clinical studies show that in just 20 minutes, Liquid Gold decreases wrinkle depth, improves texture and increases moisture within the skin”.

This is a night time treatment and is great for those with hyper pigmentation caused by acne scarring, dark spots as its formulated with Glycolic acid and alpha hydroxy acids which stimulate the skin cells and ultimately promote regeneration and collagen production.

The purpose of the glycolic acid is to reduce the skins normal PH level while you sleep, forcing the skin to work extra hard to get its PH back to normal = firmer, more luminous skin in the morning. Now you only have to use this 3x a week, and ideally just on it’s own without a night cream over the top…now many who are used to using a night cream or serum may struggle with this notion, but change can be good ;)

Like many products of this kind its worth doing a patch test to see if it’s right for your skin, as my skin heaven might well be your skin hell.

It’s easy to use, just apply with a cotton pad over cleansed skin and go to bed. That’s it. Be aware that it does have a slight tingling sensation upon application, but this subsides; if its more than a tingle, just stop.

Over time the skin becomes more luminous and even toned, so it works for you if you have pigmentation issues as well as for positive ageing. Even if you have good or even great skin, this will simply make it even better. Personally this deals with the pesky little imperfections on my skin that really annoy me.

What I love about this product is that it works. Here’s to another 21 years of excellence!
