Today we’re going to be talking about this fabulous series from Perricone MD – the Pre:Empt series, which is specifically designed as a preventative skincare range for millennial women. I have been using these products for a while now and have been really enjoying them. They have been created for women below the age of 35 to diminish the first signs of ageing, fatigue and fine lines – it can of course be used by older women, but this specific line has been designed as more of a preventative range. Here, I will be talking about the eye cream, the serum, the pore refiner and the cream, which all marry together to make a very effective skincare routine.

This science-based skincare brand comes from Dr Nicholas Perricone who has over 30 years of experience as a dermatologist, nutritionist, along with being a world-renowned anti-ageing expert. His lifelong passion for science and his commitment to unlocking anti-ageing secrets has been making waves in the skincare industry.

One of the things that always stands out at a Perricone launch is his passion for using natures most potent antioxidant and anti inflammatory ingredients like turmeric.

One of the major elements to this series which makes it so effective is the revolutionary formula called ‘Nrf2 Antioxidant Support ComplexTM’. It is derived from a complex of turmeric, olive leaf, green tea and cress sprouts to help the skin to improve its own natural ability to combat stress and environmental aggravators. So let’s get on to the individual products!

Brightening Eye Cream

This eye product is very creamy, doesn’t feel heavy and my eye area felt soothed after use. It contains light reflecting pearls to instantly reduce the appearance of dark circles and my under eyes certainly feel refreshed and hydrated. However, this does include the solvent Hexylene Glycol which can be an irritant on certain skin types – although I did not have a problem with it. This ingredient can also be found in the serum

Skin Perfecting Serum

This serum sinks into the skin pretty much instantly and feels incredibly silky. My skin is left feeling so soft I didn’t even feel like I needed to use a cream afterwards – and my makeup applied nicely on top of this as my skin felt very smoothed out and silky. This is certainly my favourite product from this range, I feel an instant difference to my skin and it’s very concentrated so you only need a drop or two to cover your entire face. However, it use a dropper, and unlike an oil, the thicker consistency of this product means it can be slightly messy and I think it would have been better in packaging that would limit exposure to air which leads to degradation to the product.

Exfoliating Pore Refiner

According to the Perricone website, this product is formulated to help tighten the skin, improve the appearance of pores, instantly and over time. I haven’t noticed a difference in the size of my pores, but it certainly cleans my skin. Even after double cleansing, this refiner would still manage to clear something from my skin, but it didn’t feel harsh or as if it was stripping my skin, it would feel refreshed after being used.  Unlike physical scrubs, this exfoliant gently exfoliates, clarifies and refines the skin’s surface without scratching or being abrasive. You use it by applying a little to a cotton pad and swiping it over your skin after cleansing.

Oil-Free Hydrating Cream

I have quite dry skin so anything with the word ‘hydrating’ in it attracts me! This cream is designed specifically to promote optimal hydration and nourishment, helping to boost antioxidant benefits. The cream itself is thick, an off-white colour and you don’t need a lot to cover your whole face, but it doesn’t feel heavy or oily. It feels lovely and works perfectly with the serum – together they leave your skin feeling so lovely and soft.

Overall, these products are a big plus to me, and with continued use I have noticed that my skin does look fresher and more hydrated. All of the Perricone MD products are formulated without parabens, sulfates and phthalates and is great for all skin types, from oily to dry and won’t irritate sensitive skin.
