Based on my post about the lush Korres wild rose mask which contains pomegranate enzymes I got thinking about the power of the pomegranate for beauty and health….this fruit is fully loaded! So here’s me waxing lyrical about the amazing pomegranate fruit.

Pomegranate power

Apart from being a gorgeous colour and tasting great, the Pomegranate fruit is one of those foods that has been crowned with superfood status. Personally I love hearing about superfoods especially if they happen to be foods that I like or that I can get to like. Plus, It’s one of those superfoods that can we can benefit from by eating and drinking as well as using its oil as a beauty treatment.

Why the superfood status?

Inner beauty

1- They’re a rich source of vitamin C and antioxidants, not to mention fiber and they have anti-inflammatory properties.

2- pomegranates are also proven to be effective against heart disease, high blood pressure, and inflammation amongst other health benefits.

3- Pomegranate juice has been found to have 3X the antioxidant activity of red wine and green tea….now that’s impressive!

4- it is believed to be effective in preventing muscle and cognitive ageing …..so we’ve got everything to gain.

Outer Beauty
1- Its oil is classed as a “dry” oil, so it absorbs readily into skin without leaving any greasy residue…love that!

2- it’s great for protecting the skin from those annoying free radicals which can lead to ageing of the skin

3- it’s  good for those with eczema and other sensitive skin conditions too.

So, if you’re not already a pomegranate fan….maybe you’ll become one now.
