I love it when I get an invitation to attend a Perricone event, firstly because they always make a great effort to make you feel welcome, there are always lovely nibbles and of course an amazing team of people.There is also the fact that they always make a great effort to display the science that goes into the products (well I do like a good visual!). At this launch, which was held on the roof terrace at the Southbank, we were treated to a display of molecules and clouds, against a stunning backdrop of glass and the London skyline. There are a few products in this range but this review is all about the firming foam mask.

The buzz

This Firming Foam Mask is part of the new launch from this always innovative brand. Every product in this range is powered by harnessing the power of hydrogen! According to Dr Perricone’s research hydrogen helps to increase hydration, thus increasing skin vitality and radiance (That’s the explanation in a nutshell…a very small nutshell) This mask is unique in that it foams once in contact with the skin, providing cooling hydration and nourishment. I have to say that I quite like the way that this mask foams… it’s different and it feels ‘active’. The other thing is that I am a sucker for sexy packaging, so as you can imagine, I’m loving this cool almost architectural silver cylinder… it’s so modern and sci fi looking…you know kind of ‘Blade Runner’ ish.

Why I like it…

This unique mask comes out of the airtight canister in a gel form and you apply to your face;  over the next few minutes it slowly but surely gets fatter and fatter transforming from a gel to a white foam. The instructions are to leave it on for between 5 and 10 minutes but I challenge anyone especially first time users to do that without constantly touching their face …why ? Because it tickles like hell. (let me just add that now that I’ve used it a few times, I’ve become used to the tickle) Once you get past the tickle stage and rinse off, you are left with moist, smooth and  glowing skin. I find myself using it on mornings when I look like I’ve pulled an all nighter and if I’m planning to go out and need a skin boost.

How to use 

Apply a generous amount to clean skin and leave it for between 5 and 10 minutes while it foams and does its magic. Rinse with warm water and voila… hydrated glowing skin.
