Wow Beauty Loves: September 2021

As September comes to an end and we head into Autumn, let’s take a moment to look back at some products we’ve been loving recently… check out our September Wow Beauty Loves.

Denise’s Picks…

Keys Soulcare Be Luminous Exfoliant

When it comes to facial exfoliators, my favourite types are powdered ones: I love the way that the granules work when mixed with water to gently exfoliate, smooth and polish my skin. So when I saw that the fabulous Alicia Keys had included one in her skincare range I knew I just had to try it and I’ve not been disappointed. This water activated scrub  utilises hojicha powder, lactic acid, oats, mung beans and green tea to polish your skin and leave it glowing.
urban veda

Urban Veda Purifying Body Oil

As the evenings start to get darker earlier and earlier, I’ve found myself increasingly turning to body oils and lotions that do more than just moisturise. One of my go to’s is anything from the Urban Veda Ayurvedic range of 4 body oils and the last couple of days it’s been the Purifying Body oil which is designed to energise and uplift which is exactly what it does. This is a lush blend of Neem oil, patchouli, geranium and spearmint…guaranteed to boost you!

Saltee Hands

If like me you’re still using anti bac alcohol gels to disinfect your hands after any kind of public interaction, then you’ll know that some of these alcohol gels can be really drying and irritating to the skin. If so you’ll love this one by saltee;  this is 70% alcohol as you’d expect to kill off those pesky viruses and bacteria BUT it also contains Neroli oil and other essential oils which provide the gorgeous fragrance but also moisture…leaving my  hands feeling soft and suitably moisturised.

Jessica’s Picks…

scrunching jelly

Umberto Giannini Curl Jelly Scrunching Jelly

This is a very cost friendly, effective hair gel that I picked up on a whim one day and have absolutely fallen in love with! This is a medium hold gel and I find that it gives me medium to strong hold. It provides a great cast on the hair. My hair feels defined, shiny and bouncy… love!

The jelly is vegan, sulphate free, silicone-free and cruelty free.

When I get a chance, I’ll certainly be trying more from the range.

thunderbird

Thunderbird Enzymatic Cleansing Balm

Sometimes I like to use a cleanser that offers more of a deep cleanse – and Thunderbirds Cleansing Balm combines this with my favourite cleansing texture: the balm texture. This cleansing balm has a lovely natural ingredients list and is a great, deep cleansing balm.

This cleanser is rich and thick, and I find that it gives a nice clean with a light exfoliation element, good for when you need that deeper clean, but it feels lovely and creamy on the skin too. The exfoliating element does not only come from the clay in this balm (which gives it that dark colour) but they also have fruit enzymes for natural exfoliation…. Love.

This is quite an unusual formulation, but that’s what makes me like it! My skin always feels nice and clean but not stripped after application.

It’s natural, vegan, cruelty free.
