As I’ve stated previously in my edit of primers for all skintones, I never used to bother with primers, but now because they are so well formulated and targeted to different needs, I’m loving them. In these times of ‘HD ready’ everything, anything that can smooth out little imperfections and make me look camera ready is a winner. So, here’s what I like about Hydrablur…
+ great tube presentation, makes it portable.
+ keeps oily breakthrough at bay for several hours.
+ really smooth silky feel and it glides on, this is due to the inclusion of silicon.
+ packed with water release complex and abyssinian oil to provide hydration [ I think that the level of hydration that you experience is going to be dependent on your skin type. …I personally didn’t experience hydration but then I get my moisture and hydration from the products that I use before I apply primer.
+ what I love about this primer is that it provides a flawless, silky matte finish which is great if like me you don’t wear foundation, but still want to look polished, with pores minimised.
+ it sinks into the skin beautifully and as such is perfect for all skintones, when applied with fingertips. however because it is a whitish cream you must follow the instructions and only use a small amount. It works best for me when I apply it with my fingertips.
+ On shoots it works really well, providing the perfect base for foundation by smoothing the skin and reducing the impact of little imperfections that can sometimes affect the finish of makeup.
+/- Dermalogica say that you can use it with a damp sponge or brush for more of a ‘blur’ effect, which I tried but that’s when I ended up with a noticeable slightly ‘pale’ finish which wouldn’t be a problem if I were going to wear foundation.
+/- I think that although this is designed for all skin types, it’s most effective for normal or combination to oily skins; if you have slightly drier skin, I’d make sure to moisturise well before using.
It’s made its way onto my bathroom shelf and into my work kit so I guess it’s clear that I’m keeping Hydrablur 💜
It cost £38.00 for a 22ml tube from http://www.dermalogica.co.uk/uk/html/products/hydrablur-primer-222.html?type=function&cat=targeted+treatments
