It’s International Women’s Day! It’s a day to celebrate all women so today we wanted to talk about some women who really inspire us in the Industry. Women who support other women. So today, we are going to celebrate some truly amazing women… and we’d love to hear from you about who you’re inspired by!

Merumaya

Maleka created the brand to help you feel beautiful, uplift confidence and boost youthful radiance. This brand has a story behind it… its founder Maleka Dattu created the brand based on her life journey. The MERUMAYA range is designed around the concept of preventing skin ageing in a healthy and holistic way.

Therapie by Roques O’Neil

World-renowned aromatherapist Michelle Roques-O’Neil’s range is designed to help cope with those day-to-day struggles. In an increasingly hectic world, inner priorities can easily get lost. THERAPIE by Roques ONeil provides a soulful antidote to the stresses faced each day. Michelle is someone that constantly inspires us.

Kiss the Moon

Jo Foster champions the issue of sleep with her natural health and wellness brand Kiss the Moon, dedicated to helping people get in the right frame of mind to sleep along with nourishing the body overnight.

Here’s our Wow Woman interview with Kiss the Moon’s founder Jo Foster.

OM Skincare

Om created the brand with the question “How can a skincare brand benefit people beyond their skin?” in mind. She was driven to find a way to create a brand that embraced mindfulness and encompassed all her beliefs and discoveries, a skincare brand that harnessed dynamic ingredients with mindfulness to deliver maximum skincare benefits.

Fenty

Fenty has become the name on every beauty lovers lips, one of the most coveted brands around at the moment – and for good reason! Rihanna’s mission statement with her brand was that she wanted to make everyone feel included, all shades, personalities, attitudes, cultures and races and really stayed true to this with her 40 shades strong with her foundation debut. We cannot wait to see what comes next for the brand.

FENTY BEAUTY Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation

Daughter of the Soil

The brand is the love child of Maria Magembe, who was joined on her journey by her long time friend Hellen Lawuo-Meena who joined forces and launched the brand in 2015. The brand is a pioneering British-Blended, African-Heritage beauty brand.

The other thing that this dynamic duo are doing is working to pay it forward through their ‘Connect the Dots’ scheme which supports African femtrepreneur who are ‘daughters of the soil’ – women who work in agridculture, supporting them to get better equipment like seeds and equipment to create better produce such as their shea butter.

Kahina Giving Beauty

The whole ethos behind the luxury skincare brand is of women supporting other women while at the same time creating a sustainable business. It was launched in 2008 by Katherine L’Heureux and was initially inspired by a trip that she made to Morocco in 2007 where her exploration of traditional skincare remedies began. This brand ‘pay it forward’ by paying fair wages to the Berber women who extract the Argan oil and by donating a percentage of their profits to programs that support the women and their families.

Prismologie

Prismologie is a skincare line that combines colour therapy with gemstones created by Sheikha Fatima Al-Sabah and her mother, Sheikha Intisar Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah. I love the idea that both of the dynamic female founders are passionate about the power of alternative therapies and personal development and this is part of the reason they launched this brand.
