Can you believe we’re already halfway through the year?

Somehow, it feels like January was a lifetime ago, yet it also feels like the months have flown by…. don’t you think? It’s now June and we’ve reached the middle of the year and that gives us the opportunity: a chance to pause and check in.

June has always felt a little different to me because it’s also when I celebrate my birthday. As a result, I naturally find myself reflecting around this time of year, taking stock of where I am, what’s changed, what I’ve learned, and where I want to go next. The fact that it also falls halfway through the year feels like a happy coincidence and makes it the perfect reset point.

It’s so easy to just move from one task or goal to the next without actually taking a moment to sit with it, to acknowledge it and see how far we’ve come. We’re constantly trying to look forward at what’s going to happen, what’s next, what we have left to do, that we forget to recognise what we have and the amazingness in that… but we can change that!

The past six months have probably been filled with successes, challenges, surprises and everything in between. Things might not have gone to plan, they might have gone better than you could have hoped for, or things might have blown up in your face or taken an unexpected direction. It’s all okay, it’s all part of the journey and its all worthy of reflection and respect.

So, this June, let’s take some time to celebrate and to process everything that’s led us to this moment and what’s to come next as we move forward through the year.

So grab your favourite notebook or journal and pen, make a warm drink and let’s spend a few minutes with these questions:

Take a moment to look back…june mid year reflection

  • What am I most proud of from the past six months?
  • What challenges have I gone through that I might not be giving myself full credit for?
  • What moments have brought me joy, fulfilment or peace?
  • Have I learned anything about myself this year?
  • What wellbeing habits have supported me this year? Are they still working?
  • Am I simply doing things with my time, or am I choosing to spend it with people I love and in ways that truly light me up?
  • What am I grateful for right now?

Check in with yourself

  • How do I feel physically, mentally and emotionally?
  • What areas of my life are out of balance right now?
  • Am I neglecting any areas of my life or does anything feel out of alignment?
  • What do I need more of in my life? What do I need less of?
  • Have I been treating yourself with kindness and compassion? How?
  • Are you listening to your body and intuition? What is it trying to tell you?
  • What is bringing me happiness every day?

Time to look ahead

  • What am I looking forward to in the next six months?
  • What are my priorities moving forward?
  • What would I love to experience or do in the next six months?
  • Are any goals I set still relevant or exciting? Do they need refining?
  • What small changes can I put in place that could have a positive impact on my wellbeing?
  • How do I want to feel at the end of the year?
  • What’s one thing I can do today to support my vision?

Reflection and gratitude is powerful and can be deeply emotional, so take some time with your answers, allow yourself to be honest and vulnerable with them. Once you are ready, review your answers and see if you have any themes… then look for one or two areas to focus on for the next chapter. Don’t try to do it all, just gentle adaptations can make all the difference. Celebrate your growth and everything that has gotten you to today and ask yourself…

What do I want the next six months to be like?

Let this guide you.
