Vichy Ideal Soleil: The Dynamic Suncare Duo

I’m calling these gorgeous oil based products from Vichy the dynamic duo because they work really well together! We have been really spoilt this summer with the launches of some truly inspired and groundbreaking sun care products that make it soooo very easy to protect our skin from the sun and other environmental aggressors without having to compromise on the end result as these products are all transparent with high SPF’s and as a bonus they all have textures that mean that flatter and enhance the skin.

The Buzz
These two Oils are the new launch from Vichy the highly respected French skincare brand who have been at the top of the skincare industry for years, but who over the last year or so have really gone into innovation overdrive with some very desirable product launches (see my review of their Aqualia Thermal Serum Vichy Aqualia

Here’s why I love the ‘Ideal Soleil After Sun oil’

When the package arrived and we opened it the first thing we did was open the ‘After Sun’ and apply it to arms and legs….and I think it’s safe to say that we fell in love with it immediately ….the spell was cast! This oil smells simply gorgeous, just clean but with a little something else that I just can’t pinpoint, but more importantly it is gorgeous on the skin! This oil is absorbed easily leaving your skin with a subtle glow, it acts like a dry oil. It softens and deeply moisturises and the effects are long lasting.

The Brand say
“A double usage after sun, to use on wet or dry skin, which soothes the feel of skin, refreshes and hydrates skin after sun exposure.”
They suggest that you rinse it off and then pat your skin dry BUT that’s not how I’ve been using it: I’ve applied it in the shower, left it on and then patted my skin dry and I’ve tried it as a post shower moisturiser and I love it either way. It’s dry oil formulation means that it doesn’t leave any marks on my clothing and I’m left with nothing but soft, silky and deeply nourished skin.

Ingredients
This After Sun Contains vitamin E, shea oil and a variety of vegetable oils such as apricot kernel, coriander seed , blackcurrant seed and echium which are all rich in fatty acids. The skin is softened and feels nourished for up to 48 hours.
Plus it’s great for all skintypes including sensitive and it’s free from parabens.

The Ideal Soleil SPF 50 face and body oil
Is a dry oil that can be used on both face and body, which is lovely. I’m always more than a little dubious about multi purpose body and face products, especially as I’ve tried some in the past that have caused my facial skin to react but as this is designed to be safe for sensitive skins I thought I’d chance it and I’m loving it. I can use it on my face without any concerns and it virtually vanishes so there’s no problem with shiny face, so if you’re going to wear makeup you can without a problem and if not you’re just left with healthy looking skin.

These are both in plastic packaging which makes them light and easy to keep close at hand either on vacation or at home.
The verdict
I will be taking this dynamic duo on vacation with me!
