I can’t quite put my finger on it but there’s something very reassuring about classic French skincare brands, I’m not sure whether it’s tied into the whole idea of the French being the originators of great skincare, hence even now many a beauty addict will still have numerous French products in their beauty tool box that have cult status eg embryialse , nuxe, avibon etc…and then of course there are all of the mainstream French brands like Clarins, Gatineau, Decleor, Carita….the list is endless as is the legacy.
I’m telling you all of this because I was recently given some products by Payot to try. Payot is one of those classic French brands, founded in 1920 by Dr Nadia Payot a groundbreaking woman who used her knowledge of medicine, science and herbs to create her creams and she developed a facial massage to improve the efficacy of the products.
I’ve been using the ‘Supreme Jeunesse Concentre‘ and the ‘Supreme Jeauness Jour‘. Both products contain Magnolia and orchid extracts, Carcinine, Brown algae extract, Wakame extract, Hyaluronic acid, Vitamin C all of which are potent ingredients in skin age prevention and according to the brand “Its cutting-edge formula, twice as concentrated in hyaluronic acid and vitamin C, effectively fights the signs of aging: wrinkles, slackening skin, dark spots, muddy complexion, and dehydration”.
The serum is slightly pearlescent and is very quickly absorbed by the skin, leaving it radiant without leaving a sticky or greasy film on the skin, just a lovely smooth finish. depending on your skin type you could easily be tempted to use the serum alone, as it leaves a lovely glow acting a bit like a primer. The day cream is richer and has a satisfying richness to it without feeling heavy or sticky, it just leaves beautifully moisturised skin and keeps it that way for the day.
