Yes.. I admit it. I’m a haircare addict. I love trying new curly hair products and when I discovered Flora and Curl, I had to try it. This hair brand also combines other elements that we love within its products, which is something that we love: aromatherapy and wellbeing.
The first thing I noticed about these products is the beautiful scent – and it’s something that lingers in the hair too. In fact, I was sat next to my partner and even he commented (saying it was very nice too). It’s not overpowering, but it’s there and it’s lovely. It gave the products a deeper purpose – not only are you using them to clean and style your hair, the scent helps to give you that moment to pause, relax and breathe… love it.
I wanted to try a range of their products and so I tried out their travel kit as it included many of their most popular goodies.
Organic Rose and Honey Cream Shampoo
A lovely aromatic cream shampoo. It lathers a little, which I appreciate as I do have trouble with shampoos that don’t lather at all (I know it’s more of a psychological thing but I don’t feel like I can get a good clean otherwise). But I do feel like it gives a nice ‘squeaky’ clean that isn’t stripping at all.
The shampoo is rich in moisturising oats, organic rose flower water and honey, and packed with Pro-vitamin B to hydrate dry and dehydrated curls while cleansing your curls
Organic Rose and Honey Cream Conditioner
The scent… yum! I love the scent of this and it feels lovely on the hair.
One thing that I will say (and this is only if you buy the mini sizes) is that this comes in a pump bottle… and I use a fair amount of conditioner each time in my hair so trying to get enough out was a little difficult.
This conditioner combines the antioxidant benefits of Camellia Green Tea along with 9 other oils and butters, including Camellia Oil, Avocado Oil, Olive Oil, with Shea Butter to strengthen and restore moisture back to dry strands.
Sweet Hibiscus Curl Activating Lotion
This lovely cream helps to moisturise the hair without weighing it down. It’s very smoothing and has a lovely scent.
Some of the key ingredients include Sweet Almond Oil to nourish, Hibiscus to create glossiness, Soy Protein to strengthen and hold moisture, Burdock Root to soften and define and Coconut Oil to add shine and protect the strands.
Sweet Hibiscus Curl Defining Gel
This was the one that I was most excited about. I love a good hair gel.
This lovely gel gave me that cast that all curly girls look for to seal in the hair and it lasts really well – I could even still feel the hold in my hair the next morning which is incredibly rare for me when combined with other products.
The cream and gel alone – wow, my hair was so beautifully shiny, my hair felt so beautiful! I do feel like I needed a mousse however to keep up the hold, but this is normal for my hair type.
It works like a dream with my favourite mousse – giving me a super strong hold that lasts all day.
The key ingredients include Sweet Almond Oil to nourish, Hibiscus to give glossiness, Rice Protein to create volume and Marshmallow Extract to soften and define.
Jasmine Oasis Hydrating Hair Mist
I love that it’s in a spray bottle, it makes it easy to spritz over the hair. I also feel like there’s less waste – you’re not applying the oil to your hairs first, therefore losing some of that goodness that stays on your hand. It’s light, so doesn’t make the hair feel greasy, just beautifully scented and glossy.
Some of the key ingredients are: Organic Rose Flower Water, Aloe Vera and bioactive flower oils of Lavender, Jasmine and Sandalwood… a beautiful, hydrating cocktail that’s a delight to the nose!
Sustainability
Their products are made in the UK in small batches to ensure the freshness of each product. They source natural, cold pressed oils and butter from local suppliers.
Their packaging is recyclable, shipping materials and fillers are eco-friendly and biodegradable with minimal packaging that is also all recyclable and biodegradable.
They are a 100% cruelty-free brand.
